Stop motion, collage, black and white, texture, classic tailoring, beautiful, angular models, metallics, and….wait for it…..florals (?!)
Everything I love most in one campaign. Art direction win.

This show just keeps getting better. That copper lightning bolt with the matching tie?! Swoooooon. Honestly, the best part about my job is that I get to spend afternoons looking at things that inspire and mystify me…So truly blessed. Today, I am working on some bios for one of my favorite people ever, Stephen Naparstek for Gallery Aesthete‘s new inventory, which includes WVB’s SS13 collection. If you are lucky enough to live in Chicago, swing by their space ASAP. If not, there’s always this!

3.1 Philip Lim SS13//Grunge Girls and Ninja Boys
3.1 Philip Lim is coming with me back into the 90′s this season. A perfect balance of texture, print, patch, and motion, the fabrics outshine the original grunge era by replacing the heavy textile with light silks, and maybe some chiffon viscose or modal!? (I can’t wait to touch these to find out). The behind the scenes photos of this ready to wear line really take the cake over the runway photos, and I look forward to seeing 3.1PL on the streets this season. My pick from Mr. Lim this year is the black overalls, if you anyone is feeling generous.
As if the collection wasn’t enough to delight the senses of the ladies this spring, I suggest boys and girls alike spend the next 1 minute 15 seconds watching the following video, Trickers, a grand display of 3.1 Philip Lim’s Men’s for Spring/Summer 2013. Extremely well-built “trickers” Jason Mello and the adorable Micah Karns flip around in all of their glistening glory, showcasing every angle of each incredible piece (which has literally no fusion with the women’s line, but totally scratches my sexy ninja man itch, so it’s cool!) Filmed by creative genius Jacob Sutton.
